FAMILY CHIROPRACTOR
Paediatric Chiropractor in Browns Plains
We welcome families of all ages to our Browns Plains clinic. From tiny tots, toodlers and teenagers, our team adapts techniques to suit each family member's individual needs.
Children experience frequent physical stress as they grow — from falls and sport to prolonged sitting at school and time spent on devices.
While many minor aches resolve naturally, some children experience ongoing postural strain, spinal stiffness or discomfort that affects movement or activity levels.
At Innate Ward Chiro, we provide gentle, age-appropriate chiropractic assessment and care for children in Browns Plains and surrounding Logan suburbs including Calamvale, Parkinson, Algester, Hillcrest and Regents Park.
Our approach is calm, conservative and tailored to each child’s stage of development.
Why Might a Child See a Chiropractor?
Parents commonly seek assessment for:
Postural concerns
Neck or back discomfort
Sporting strain
Recurrent tension through the shoulders
Reduced spinal mobility
Discomfort associated with growth and activity
Children are active and resilient. However, repeated falls, heavy school bags, sporting demands and prolonged sitting can contribute to altered posture and movement patterns.
Assessment helps determine whether any mechanical restriction may be present.
How Chiropractic Care Is Adapted for Children
At Innate Ward Chiro, assessment procedures are modified according to the child’s age and development.
Chiropractic care for children is gentle and specifically adapted. Techniques such as modified SOT and instrument-assisted methods may be used depending on presentation. Forceful manual adjustments are not used in the same way they are for adults.
Our aim is to support healthy spinal movement and comfort without over-medicalising normal growth and development.
If symptoms fall outside a musculoskeletal scope, appropriate referral to your GP or specialist will be recommended. No treatment is performed at the first visit without explanation and parental consent.
Supporting Healthy Posture in School-Aged Children
Modern school and lifestyle demands place sustained load on developing spines. Prolonged sitting, device use and reduced outdoor movement can influence posture.
Where appropriate, we may provide simple advice around:
School bag weight and positioning
Desk ergonomics
Movement breaks
Basic mobility exercises
These strategies are practical and realistic for family life.
